"Wiremnky has produced a good album to chill out to, with a blend of different genres of electronica that creates a pleasurable journey through techno..."

"What really makes this album worth a listen is its interesting mix of beats and melodies. The beats are reminiscent of trip-hop, with a good feel and somewhat consistent pace. The melodies and instrumentals are fairly well intertwined with the bass line, with a few instances in which the melody just seems off a beat or two. The album seems to really shine, however, in the songs that have a straightforward and consistent background bass..."

"The fifth track, 'Airport,' is probably the best. This catchy song has a great trip-hop feel with a melody that seems to fit in perfectly. The vocals seem to flow intertwined within, creating an overall sensation that is just right. 'Strong Winds' has a pleasing trance feel to it and is followed by another catchy song, 'Unrequited.' With the best vocal track, the mixture of instrumentals and bass seems to be a seamless transition..."

Wiremnky: interesting crossbreed

"Wiremnky's album 'Fresh Cold Cuts: The Delicatessen Remixes' is a mellow, evening-in CD that combines vocals that sound like the Cranberries or Bjork with the undertones of something heavier (NIN maybe). This CD is perfect for an evening with someone special. The sound brings to mind candlelight and flower petals and quiet conversation."

"The vocals created in this CD are soft, but do not tire the listener. Rather, its soft vocals are subtly woven with a heavy bass making the music almost peppy. It makes for great around-the-house music and appeals to people with a wide rage of tastes because it includes so many different musical elements. Some places in this CD even sounds similar to Madonna's 'Ray of Light' CD because of the pacing and the vocal elements."

"The CD is well worth listening to..."

"Let me start by saying that you won't find this CD in just any Wal-Mart store, and that's a shame. With that said, you can download some free preview tracks and purchase the cd from www.mp3.com/wiremnky, and I would whole-heartedly recommend that anyone even mildly interested in this CD should sample these tracks.

"The music on Fresh Cold Cuts is a strange hybrid, a mix between the electronic beats of Wiremnky and the sooth female vocals of Bare Wire. All songs on the CD are well produced, and the music accompanies the vocals extremely well, with extremely smooth vocals and even smoother beats and grooves. But this, the strongest point of the album, turns out to be its biggest weakness, because none of the songs, except "Water Glass" (which can be previewed at the aforementioned web site) stick out. They all sound the same to me, and the vocals on some are a bit harder to understand than I would normally find pleasing.

"Despite this, there isn't a horrible track on the disc, and its worst music is still extremely nice on the ears, and at the best it'll leave you hanging on your seat trying to comprehend something seemingly impossible to comprehend, and that's part of the reason that this music is so alluring... This CD should be in the collection of anyone who enjoys music, yeah, music, the kind of thing that N'Sync and Britney and the rest of the boy/girl toy and sell-out groups refuse to offer, and for the low price of $6, I'd say that this is better than Enya."

Wiremnky gives Fresh electronica

"For a DJ nobody's ever heard of, Wiremnky shows obvious talent on his latest album, entitled Fresh Cold Cuts: The Delicatessen Remixes. The album consists of remixes from the 1996 album Delicatessen and features techno beats along with a woman's voice experimenting with sounds and singing throughout. The voice of the woman heard in nearly every track is actually a nice contrast to the accompanying electronic sounds... the music comes across as soothing and creates a friendly ambience.

"The names of the songs seem derived from nowhere, since the songs contain few noticeable riffs or tunes. The highlight of the album is a track entitled 'Airport,' a song that has very interesting vocals mixed with an upbeat tempo and catchy sounds. Not many people listen to this type of chill electronic music... it is definitely recommended."

"For his latest project, Wiremnky takes original songs from Bare Wire's album 'Delicatessen' and mixes her voice with his original beats.

"The album begins with electronic break beats and the shrill, yet pleasing, voice of Bare Wire. Bare Wire's vocals, which have been described as a mix of Bjork and The Cranberries' Dolores O'Riordan, sound pain-inflicted but soothing and the entire album is reminiscent of Air and Tricky."

"Bare Wire enunciates about as well as Bjork and it may take several listens before listeners understand what she is saying, however, many will find her vocals and Wiremnky's mixes make beautiful music."

Remixing old tracks to make new sounds

"From a mix of jungle, trip hop, Meat Beat Manifesto and Bjork influences emerges Wiremnky's latest CD, 'Fresh Cold Cuts: The Delicatessen Remixes.' In a collaborative effort with Bare Wire, the annals of electronica are explored in an attempt to create a sense of serenity."

"Critics compare Wiremnky most often to electronic artists Orbital and Coldcut for his mixing of deep jungle and smooth trip hop. The album has its redeeming qualities, and it is refreshing to see an artist willing to stretch his talents and delve into the world of experimental music."

excerpt from Volume 67, Issue 2

"Many of the tracks on this CD are what qualify as 'good techno.' There's not too much repetition and the beats are consistent. There is a definite groove to them that can draw you into the electronic mindscape Wiremnky has constructed."
